You will work on behalf of our client, a fast-growing Nordic data consultancy specializing in modern cloud-native data platforms and advanced analytics solutions. As the new Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing modern cloud-native data platforms for enterprise clients. Working in a highly collaborative consulting environment, you will combine hands-on engineering with close client interaction, helping organizations improve data quality, scalability, and engineering maturity.
You will develop robust data pipelines, contribute to CI/CD and testing practices, and support the implementation of modern data architectures using technologies such as Databricks, DBT, SQLMesh, and major cloud platforms. In addition to technical delivery, you will work directly with stakeholders and client teams, helping drive best practices, improve collaboration, and solve complex technical challenges.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining deep technical work with consulting and communication responsibilities and who is motivated to grow toward an architect-level profile over time.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native data platforms and pipelines.
- Build and optimize modern data engineering solutions using technologies such as Databricks, DBT, SQLMesh, and cloud platforms.
- Implement strong engineering practices including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and automation.
- Collaborate directly with enterprise clients and internal stakeholders to understand technical and business requirements.
- Support data platform modernization initiatives and improve engineering maturity within client organizations.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and help establish data engineering best practices.
- Work closely with centralized data teams, technical leads, and business stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges.
- Participate in consulting engagements in a hybrid client-facing environment.
- Continuously evaluate and improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability of data solutions.
Other requirements (education, experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience within data engineering or modern data platform development.
- Strong experience with modern cloud-native data environments.
- Experience with technologies such as Databricks, DBT, SQLMesh, BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of data pipelines, data modeling, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD, testing methodologies, and scalable engineering practices.
- Consulting experience or previous client-facing experience is highly valued.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and contribute in collaborative environments.
- Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and motivation to continuously evolve technically.
- Experience from enterprise environments or large-scale data platforms is considered an advantage.
- Norwegian language skills are mandatory due to client-facing responsibilities
