Senior Full Stack Engineer, Munich

You will work on behalf of our client, a leading German-headquartered retail innovator who is modernising their proprietary, cloud-native customer relationship management platform. This isn't just an "off-the-shelf" CRM; it is the heartbeat of the company’s customer interactions, powering high-level insights and driving turnover growth in a major European marketplace. As the new Senior Full-Stack Developer, you will possess a rare blend of deep backend expertise (Java/Spring Boot) and modern frontend skills (React) to scale, optimise, and evolve an agile microservice landscape. You will serve as a technical mentor, architectural visionary, and strategic problem-solver, acting as the driving force behind bringing a complex, data-driven system to its next evolutionary stage. Following the departure of external consultants, this role offers a massive opportunity to take the reins and shape the platform’s future direction.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Take end-to-end responsibility for new, sophisticated features, from initial design to full-stack implementation.
- Play a key role in defining the technical vision and architecture roadmap, ensuring the full-stack ecosystem is scalable and open to new tech trends.
- Ensure stable, secure operations of existing services and microservices while continuously optimising performance and security.
- Leverage real-time data streams via Kafka consumers and push boundaries into ML-driven, data-rich personalisation and self-service initiatives.
- Act as a technical mentor and proactive "owner" within the team to resolve system complexities.
Other requirements:
- Mastery of Java and Spring Boot alongside modern frontend skills in React or Vue.
- Solid experience designing and implementing microservice architectures.
- Proven expertise in the development of Kafka consumers for processing real-time data streams.
- Proficiency in both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
- Exceptional communication and ownership skills, with a proven track record of identifying problems and proposing solutions.
- Experience in Retail, E-commerce, or CRM systems is highly advantageous.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; German language skills are a strong plus.
